We didn't phone or mail or text, but sent one or another postcard. To get together with friends travelling around was not easy. They had to know your present Poste restante location.
I remember a friend wrote his girlfriend to come to Ios but his hand writing was so bad she went Kos. He was to meet her at the ferry on a certain day. She never showed that day. He was bewildered, disappointed and worried. But I few days later she deciphered his hand writing and came to Ios.
