Some afternoon people in the square. Four bars, and Jonis Electric to the left, on the side. As usual. The place in focus we called "The blue place".

This is like suddenly having a time machine!
I was there somewhere for these summers. Not a mobile phone in sight ... in fact the only phones were at the post office and it was like using a tin can and a piece of string with about the same quality of reception. Plus you had to book your call and pay top dollar for it!
I cannot remember I ever used a phone in Ios at that time. To post a postcard was like the project of a summer. Hope you also have seen the album with more black & white photos here http://picasaweb.google.se/eviedee/Ios1977
I was there in summer of 1977. One of the best times I’ve ever had. The place was certainly a party island. Had to make sure you didn’t pass out in village square or else wheel barrow brigade would appear. They would put people in wheelbarrow and dump them out of sight of main square. It was a wonderful six days. Mountaintop disco was awesome. Fellow travelers were super friendly. I’ll never forget my time on Ios
